3 Steps To Gowing Your Network with Social Media
We spend hours a day in the scroll hole of social media newsfeeds. We like posts, comment on them, post ourselves, and even send messages one-on-one. Yet, the most common question I get is, "how do you build your network on social media?"
I know it seems easier said than done, however, it really is easy. I feel we overcomplicate what should be super simple and it stops us from ever really getting anything productive done.
I share with you my 3 steps to growing your network with social media below;
- Networking Groups
- Mom Groups
- Blogger Groups
- Network Marketing Groups
- Niche Specific Groups
- Community Groups
- Neighborhood Groups
ALL. THE. GROUPS!
I am in groups all over the world and in different cities in the USA. I plug myself in and find new demographics, interests, and niche markets to tap into.
2. ENGAGE IN THOSE GROUPS!
You cannot just be a part of a group and then never participate. What the hell is the point of that?
Does this take up your time? YEP!
Can it be exhausting? YEP!
Do you feel at times like you are not getting anywhere? YEP!
But, is it worth it in the long run? Absoflippinglutely!
Go through the members and add new friends (only people you can truly see taking advantage of your product, service, or opportunity).
I am not going to start a relationship with a 35 year old woman who shows no class on FB. Has 150 friends and her last post was 2 months ago.
I am going to connect with the 35 year old woman who posts 1-3 times a day. Has over 1500 friends on FB. Is uplifting, entrepreneural minded, and actively engaging with her following daily.
THAT'S MY PEOPLE!
3. MAKE THE CONNECTION!
As soon as they accept my friend request I send them a New Connecition Message thanking them for the new connection and seeing if they are open to having a virtual coffee and convo with me to network?
My goal here is to learn more about what they do, their story, their passions and what makes them do all they do and how how I can help support THEM in business.
Do you see what I did there?
My call isn't about me. It is about THEM!
Naturally, they ask what I do and I share briefly and we connect on some level of interest, hobby, life similarity, passion, etc.
My goal is to make new friends and connections. I keep track of all my new connections and make follow up dates and just keep building the relationships.
Over time they become prospects and then customers or biz partners.
I do the same on Instagram but I search hashtags and jump from followers lists to other peoples followers lists and make connections that way.
YOU WILL KNOW when the right time to bring up your service, product or opportunity is. Just feel it out. Let go of the OUTCOME and just start friending people!!
